Daily Poll 1282: Will There Be a Third Temple?
There are two temples associated with Judaism. The first was built by Solomon and was destroyed during the Babylonian exile. The temple was rebuilt and stood for about 600 years before the Romans destroyed it in 70 AD along with the city of Jerusalem. The Muslims have built the Dome of the Rock on the site where this temple used to be. Part of the Zionist agenda is to take complete control of Jerusalem and building the third temple. The orthodox Christian perspective is that this is unnecessary as the temple was part of the old covenant and the second temple’s destruction was a sign of a new covenant formed with Christ’s earthly ministry and passion.
