Daily Poll 1203: What Do You Think of Sedevacantism?
Sedevacantism comes from the latin term sede vacante which means with the chair being vacant. Sedevacantists insist that the office of Papacy has been vacant since the death of Pope Pius XII due to the heretical dogmas that came as a result of Vatican II. This is core to the idea of traditional Catholicism and while it’s more in line with Orthodox thinking. The issues between the East and West formed centuries before even Vatican I. I don’t think Roman Catholicism can be reformed without acknowledging and reforming the current Papacy. What do you think? Don’t forget to vote on the poll and to comment below!
