Daily Poll 1197: What Do You Think Of Public Execution?
There was a man who committed a double murder that is being executed by firing squad in South Carolina. While it did scandalize a lot of people; there are some who think its just and that the State is in the right to carry out an execution like that. This has me thinking of public execution. Many states and jurisdictions have banned the death penalty all together let alone public execution. I don’t think it’s something our culture would allow but if it was done correctly then it could be foundational to restoring a polite society. It could also be the cornerstone of totalitarianism.
