Daily Poll 1106: Was the Release of New Coke Staged?
In the 80s Coca Cola released New Coke and this created quite a stir as many consumers hated the taste of new coke and preferred the original and as such they eventually brought it back as original coke. This lead to a massive increase of sales and led to the idea that Coca-Cola never changed the formula and staged the whole release as a massive PR stunt. I think that’s in the realm of possibility.
