Daily Poll 1051: What Do You Think of Intercession?
Intercession is the religious practice of praying for an entity that will then take your prayers to God or to pray to God for you. The Catholic and Orthodox churches adopted the practice of intercession from pagans they converted early on in the history of the church. Protestants today will call intercession necromancy and idolatry but since Saints are alive in heaven and most intercession will acknowledge the sole divine nature of God; I think it’s a weak argument. Islam was permissive of intercession with Pagan goddesses in Arabia before quickly being banned. These are known as the satanic verses. What do you think?
