Daily Poll 1017: What Do You Think of Thomas Aquinas?
Saint Thomas Aquinas was a Dominican Friar and Priest for the Catholic church. He lived in what is now modern Italy during the 13th century. He’s one of the Catholic church’s most influential philosophers and theologians. His theological writings influenced the church for centuries and his harmonization of Aristotle’s philosophy with Christianity is what set the stage for the Age of Reason to occur and not be instantly seen as heretical to the Church. Thomas has been canonized as Saint since 1323 and as such is associated with a number of miracles. While his life as a Saint is interesting what is more relevant to this poll is work in theology and philosophy. What do you think? Don’t forget to vote on the poll and to comment below!
